Joined a new kids’ show on TVB! Say hello to Y-SB: Y-So Beautiful. I’m not kidding! Hahaha. I love you guys.
Noob robots on “Master Joe” – Y-08 and Y-SB! Woot woot!
Happy New Year everyone! I wish everyone a year of abundance in God’s grace and love for the year of the dragon! Loving Chinese new year! My friends are playing mahjong with my mom right outside my room as we speak! Been eating so so so much it’s ridiculous! Not the best week for my new year’s resolution if you can recall.
The feast began the night before CNY… with dumplings at home! Loooooooooved it. I’m an absolute sucker for dumplings. Would love to do a dumpling-eating competition with friends :p
Sweet soup dumplings with sweet potatoes. Used to love these things, but not so much anymore. Maybe it’s because this was served right after the ridiculous amount of dumplings I ate.
*ahem*… This is me busy with wrapping food… Can you guess what it is?
A lot of people take pride in ‘dating their jobs’ when they’re single. I want to take pride in striving to honor God regardless of my relationship status and knowing that there was not one second when my job didn’t need me to take it seriously anyway.
Hong Kong Rugby Sevens is more than two months away and we’re already talking about it! Check it out on the Oriental Daily sports page here.
They were a disaster; this is why:
I’m still trying out recipes. Cookie dough – not very impressed. Icing – very disappointed.
This cookie dough spreads a lot. I guess this recipes has too much butter. Hm don’t mind the little ‘squares’ though, they’re not off because the dough sucks, they’re off because I didn’t really use a cookie cutter for them. Haha. Well I did make an inventory list of the cookie cutters I own…
…but I didn’t take into consideration that the square cutter I have is massive. So I had to use a rectangular cutter and trim the dough… Anyway.
Almost a year ago I had a burn-out. It wasn’t fun.
One of the most important things I learnt in 2011 to do was rest. A friend of mine was going through a similar thing as me when I had my burn-out. We vowed to allows ourselves at least one day of rest every week (that’s if my work schedule allows, somewhat ironic/pointlessly). It’s also what we call the Sabbath. That day usually wasn’t Sunday since I’m busy running around at church, so I would set a day aside each week for my own enjoyment.
Towards the end of the year I realized I didn’t only need me-time, but I needed physical rest. You see, I had been setting a day aside to chill, meet up with friends and whatnot, but what I didn’t realize is that it is actually quite tiring.
I was telling a friend today, that as I made work a priority (she promptly corrected me that it’s my sanity that’s priority, though work is one of them), I needed to make rest a priority along with it. Well, it’s more of a shift in attitude and this is what happened: Continue reading
I’ve been through a dry season with God for the last few months, and for my new year’s + birthday wish all I wanted deep down was a restoration of that intimacy with Jesus.
It has been frustrating. I keep wondering what I can do to make things right, yet I knew it isn’t my works that will change my relationship with God, for it is by grace that I am saved (Ephesians 2:8).
Joined the TVB team for the Community Chest charity walk on Sunday 8 Jan. It was fun! I admit I didn’t really know what was going on… mainly because I was up at 6:15am only knowing when and where I was expected to be.
Had my birthday dinner at a bar last night where we had a good time dipping our faces in Hoey glasses, eating too many peanuts, sharing pizza etc etc. (Thanks for coming out guys!)
As lovers of dancing/bobbing, we swiftly moved the party to LKF, where we went on to discover how old we are. No, not like we’re tired and knees are hurting, but more like… We can only stay on a packed smokey dance floor for so long. Perhaps it’s the fact that people were just mindlessly bobbing.
The few of us who prefer to sit and chat over drinks trekked across Hollywood Road and decided together that it’s good we have clubbing out of our systems. I myself am quite content with this kind of aging
All in all, a good night. Did a bit of everything – dinner at a bar with a bunch of my favorite people, go dancing, go chill as an elite group of old people. Loved it.
I’m not sure since when, but birthdays have become birthday-weeks.
Mine began exactly a week before my birthday. Usually it’s planned – when you meet up with friends and what not. As I’ve mentioned, my best friends are in town and I’m planning to spend as much time with them as possible this week, therefore instead of having birthday dinners with different friends I’ve decided to just get everyone together for drinks in one night.
And that’s not tonight.
Every month TVB throws a birthday party for actors. Today was the January party. Here’s how it goes: we go, we each get a cake, a gift, and we play games and draw prizes. The objective is to leave with as much sponsored gifts as possible. No complaints.
